The Technical and Economic Analysis of Steel Structure Dams

Pneumatic shield gate is a new type of water retaining dam that combines traditional hydraulic steel gates with rubber dams. Suitable for a storage height of 0.5-10m, a single shield shaped gate body and rubber airbag can reach up to 10m in length. Multiple gate bodies are arranged side by side to form a dam, mainly composed of gate body, rubber airbag, embedded structure, water stop, pneumatic system, and control system. The door body is generally made of curved steel plate, which is covered with an air bag when it falls down.


Steel Structure Dams 


Steel dam gate is a new type of integral hydraulic driven steel gate, suitable for retaining heights of 1-7m. The longest single gate can reach 60m, and after a width of over 60m, a middle pier and an independent hoisting machine room need to be constructed. It is mainly composed of a door body with a fixed shaft, a crank arm, an opening and closing device, a control system, a water stop structure, etc. The hydraulic drive device of the steel dam gate acts on the bottom shaft of the door panel, and the lifting and lowering of the door leaf is achieved by rotating the bottom shaft.


Steel Structure Dams 


Hydraulic lifting dam is a new type of water retaining dam that uses hydraulic telescopic rods and locking support rods to directly push curved dam surfaces to achieve water retention. It is suitable for retaining heights of 1.5-6m, with a standard width of 6m for a single gate. Multiple dam surfaces are arranged side by side and operate independently to form a water retaining dam. It mainly consists of a door body, hydraulic drive mechanism, support rod structure, and electronic control. Its control system can generally also achieve PLC control and remote control, realizing one control and multiple control.


Steel Structure Dams 


The hydraulic elevator dam is a dam structure formed by combining the principle of hydraulic three hinge point variable amplitude motion mechanism with the optimization of traditional water gates. The dam has multiple gates arranged side by side and operates independently, suitable for retaining water depths of 1-6m. It mainly consists of a door body, water stop, hydraulic system, control system, and monitoring system, as shown in Figure 5. The door components are all made of steel material, and P-type waterproof rubber is used for the water stop between the door bodies. The door body is connected to the embedded parts and hydraulic telescopic rods through its unique "integral" bottom hinge support, which enables precise positioning of the door body and hydraulic telescopic rods, making installation quick and accurate. By using an internal hydraulic control system and utilizing the expansion and contraction of two hydraulic cylinders on the back of the dam body, the dam surface is pushed to rotate around the bottom axis at a certain angle, achieving water blocking and lifting of the dam body. The dam body weight and water weight are used to lower the dam without power . The control system includes PLC manual control, automatic control, and remote control, and can also achieve real-time monitoring of the operation status of the hinge dam.
