IWHR Innovative Achievements were showcased at the 3rd Asia International Water Week

On September 24th, the third Asia International Water Week, led by the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences, opened in Beijing. During the conference, the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences set up an exhibition hall with the theme of "developing new water conservancy productivity and enhancing water security capabilities". Through display boards, video broadcasts, and other forms, the exhibition vividly, vividly, comprehensively, and from multiple angles showcased the scientific and technological achievements of the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences in improving the river basin flood control engineering system, implementing major national water network projects, reviving the ecological environment of rivers and lakes, promoting digital twin water conservancy construction, establishing sound water-saving system policies, strengthening institutional mechanisms and legal management, as well as the latest research progress in river ethics construction.

Physical exhibits such as the Beidou patrol terminal for mountain flood disaster monitoring and prevention, integrated lake and reservoir in-situ water ecological restoration equipment, SkyTEM termite intelligent monitoring device, underwater non-destructive testing robot, Hydraulic elevator dam, IoT intelligent water meter, ultrasonic intelligent water meter, TDU series intelligent multi-channel ultrasonic flowmeter, etc. were also showcased at the exhibition.

Representative On-Site Exhibits — Hydraulic elevator dam 

It is mainly suitable for river landscape, irrigation and water storage, reservoir expansion, and ecological water storage in rivers and lakes with a retention height of 1-5 meters, especially for mountainous areas with rising and falling floods and ice age water storage. This type of gate adopts an integral bottom hinge support combined with a small angle motion oil cylinder support. The hydraulic pump station provides power to drive the oil cylinder to expand and contract, allowing the gate body to rotate around the bottom axis within a certain angle, achieving the functions of standing the gate to block water and lowering the gate to release water. At present, Hydraulic elevator dam has been industrialized and widely used in countries such as China, Myanmar, Thailand, and Bangladesh.

Experts, scholars, and technical personnel from the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences conducted on-site discussions on the research and application of new generation information technology in the field of water conservancy, effectively enhancing the international visibility and influence of the scientific and technological innovation achievements of the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences.
